Meet AberSU: Molly

Hi there History! My name’s Molly-Jean Longden and I’m your Wellbeing Officer for the year.

Now, you may be thinking “What on earth is a Wellbeing Officer?!” and that’s simple, I’m the person charged with making sure our university and union cater for your mental and physical wellbeing, making you as happy and healthy as possible. I’m also supported by a lovely group of liberation officers that you can find here.

They cover amazing things like BAME, LGBTQ+, Women and more, and together we campaign and work together to make Aber right for you. That can happen in many ways; through student support and making sure they’re doing everything they need to be, by running really awesome campaigns like Vagina Monologues and Sexpression to make sure everyone has the opportunity to make a difference to our little bubble that is Aber, and it also includes making sure the union’s advice service is working for you!

I’ve been the Wellbeing Officer for a year already now and I’m into my second term in office thanks to our lovely voters. Hopefully that means I have a little experience under my belt so if you ever need to ask a quick question, want to run a really sick campaign with us or just want a chat then I’m your gal! You can get in touch with me via email (suwellbeing@aber.ac.uk) on the phone (01970 621741) or just by popping into the Union and asking for me at reception or at our lovely officer hub.

There’s loads of support on campus as well so if I can’t help here’s some really good places to go to seek the help you may need.
